God's Warriors

Friday 24 August 2007 at 7:59 pm

I've watched bits of the one on Islam and on Christianity. Part of what disturbs me about the pieces, as well as similar stuff I've watched countless times on CNN and the networks is the glass we are seeing through. I see that glass more easily when watching the one on Christianity but in seeing in then I have to assume I've also looking through it in the other versions too and my lack of awareness at this times troubles me more.

What is "the glass"? We can't but help stand someplace in order to view another spot. CNN has to do this too of course but attempts to be "objective". OK, a worthy effort. (In a skewed way Fox news throws out the game and just says who it is with a wink, a smirk and a heavy sneer becoming ironically a bit more honest about its filters while in my opinion less truthful overall.) We are invited by CNN to sit in a seat prepared for us to view the Christian, Muslim and Jewish warrior. The seat we are invited into, however, has GPS religious coordinates as well. "The glass" is assumed response of the audience. I saw the piece on the homeschoolers as well as the piece on the "take back America" revivalist. I could hear "the glass" whispering and gasping "Oh my gosh, can you believe these people? They actually believe this stuff!" to which I wanted to scream "Of course they do, and you believe things too!"
